- Meet in public first. A busy bar, café or park — not a home or car.
- Tell a friend. Share who you're meeting, where, and when you'll check in.
- Trust your gut. If something feels off, leave. You don't owe anyone an explanation.
- Get there on your own. Keep your own ride home and your phone charged.
- Keep personal info private — address, workplace, financial details — until you trust someone.
- Never send money to someone you met on drifthump.
- Block and report anyone who pressures you, asks for money, or offers paid services.
- In an emergency, call 911.
